As a management consulting generalist at PwC, you will play a vital role in helping clients optimise their operations, improve performance, and achieve strategic objectives. Your work may include analysing business data, developing strategies, supporting management teams, collaborating across teams, optimising tools and technology, improving organisational performance, monitoring compliance, and/or managing change.

Job Description

Risk & Regulation

•    We are currently looking for individuals with strong regulatory, internal controls, risk management, operations and internal audit backgrounds to join our team.

•    With the support of Partners and Directors, you will also be expected to undertake business development activities to raise awareness of both the Firm internally and with external clients. For people with stronger regulatory, internal controls, operation or process consulting backgrounds, there will be greater opportunities to get involved in a variety of advisory assignments on substantive matters of current and emerging risk and regulatory areas such as client onboarding (including KYC), investor protection, licensing application, sales practices and suitability assessment, operational resilience, and AML etc.

Key responsibilities include: 

•    Support on development or revision of policies and controls aligned with regulatory and compliance guidelines and requirements;

•    Provide professional advice on regulatory compliance and identify regulatory gaps against the relevant regulatory requirements; 

•    Identify control weaknesses, report findings and provide recommendations for management considerations;

•    Prepare to present project outcomes in a report and/ or management presentations for delivery to clients;

•    Support on liaising with regulatory bodies;

•    Develop advisory engagement plans and project approaches, analysing client’s current business processes and understanding the risk management environment for our clients. 

•    Develop and deliver training materials to clients or for our team’s development; and

•    You will be expected to take a consultant's approach to the projects whilst utilising our Firm’s methodology and tools to provide solutions to the client's business issues. You will also be expected to supervise, coach, develop individual team members.

Requirements

•    University degree majoring in accounting, law or business related subjects

•    Relevant professional qualifications such as CPA, FRM, ACAMS, etc;

•    Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a reputable international accounting/consulting firm or multi-national financial services organisation (candidates with more years of experience will be considered for Manager positions);

•    Practical experience in two or more of the following: AML, regulatory advisory, internal controls, risk management, operational risk management, business & system processes review, internal audit, corporate governance and business consulting;

•    Practical experience in one or more of the following industries:

Asset management (working knowledge of distribution channels, controls and processes - prime brokerage, fund administration, fund management (retail, institutional, and/or real estate / private equity, etc.))
Banking and capital markets (working knowledge of client on-boarding / KYC / AML / suitability, sales practice, licensing, other regulatory compliance, front office activities in products / sales channels, middle and/or back office control, operational risk management – commercial banking, private banking, investment banking, banking products and services)
Insurance (working knowledge of underwriting, claims, reserving, Solvency II, policy administration systems – general or life insurance);

•    Familiar with the regulatory environment of Hong Kong with experience in liaising with the HKMA, SFC or IA; and experience in the Mainland Chinese market or of market entry issues there would be an advantage;

•    Ability to identify and assess business process controls and linkage to IT systems;

•    Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (candidates with Mandarin skills preferred);

•    Ability to interact with executive levels of client and firm management
