Job Profile Summary

A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct actuarial analyses related to general insurance, including but not limited to reserving and valuation.
  • Work collaboratively with senior actuaries and colleagues across different offices to deliver high-quality consulting services on various insurance projects.
  • Provide expert advice on solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring, and risk control.
  • Develop and implement new insurance products and refine existing ones.
  • Assess the impact of new regulations on insurance companies and advise on strategic responses.
  • Enhance the efficiency of claims processing and financial reporting for clients.
  • Support the development and review of actuarial models and assumptions.
  • Engage in client management activities, including maintaining and expanding client relationships.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including preparing proposals and presentations.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the general insurance
  • Attained an internationally recognized actuarial qualification a plus
  • HKRBC, IFRS17 and valuation related experience is a plus
  • Strong marketing, client management and project management skills
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) or another Asian language is highly advantageous.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams and geographies.
