Job Description
A career in Information Technology (IT), within Internal Firm Services. As the Server and Endpoint engineer, you will play a role to design, implement, and maintaining a multitude of platform solutions, supporting core business functions across the organization. Your work will focus on optimizing server performance and maintaining endpoint integrity to ensure smooth operation. You’ll contribute to IT infrastructure security and efficiency, delivering technology solutions that strengthen PwC’s competitive edge and drive strategic business growth.
Responsibilities
- Capacity Planning: forecasting future resource needs, efficiently allocating hardware and software resources, and implementing strategies to ensure that servers can handle expected workloads with optimal performance and reliability.
- System and Storage Optimization/Upgrades: Adjusting and optimizing system and storage to meet specific needs in virtualization environment, enhancing performance through fine-tuning, and updating systems to current standards to maintain efficiency and functionality.
- Resiliency Implementation: Continuous improvement on measures and technologies to strengthen platform capability to withstand, adjust to, and recover from disruptions.
- Linux Management: Automating RHEL/Ubuntu patching workflows to streamline the process of updating systems, ensuring that they align with and adhere to the company’s Group IT Security Standard.
- Endpoint Management: Administration of desktops/laptops including deployment of updates, enforcing security protocols, and monitoring performance to enhance security and operational efficiency.
- Track Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate new solutions and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical process, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation; facilitate knowledge sharing among IT staff to enhance collaboration.
- Incident Support: Investigate and resolve escalated incidents by diagnosing root causes and implementation of fit-for-purpose remediations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher degree holder) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in server and endpoint management, including designing, implementing, and maintaining Server Infrastructure and Endpoint solutions.
- Strong understanding of server management concepts, including virtualization, storage management, backup and recovery, and endpoint security.
- Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot on-premises infrastructure, including VMware vSphere and MS Hyper-V virtualization on SAN storage.
- Experience supporting both Wintel and Linux OS at scale (RHEL and Ubuntu with RHEL Satellite).
- Knowledge of directory services such as Active Directory, LDAP, and Entra (Azure AD) is essential.
- Hands-on experience with platform management tools such as SCCM and/or Workspace ONE is highly desirable.
- Experience with Scripting e.g. Windows PowerShell / Python / C# / C++ / Bash / Perl scripting for automation is also beneficial.
- Experience in cloud computing platforms is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent written and verbal English and Cantonese is required. Mandarin is highly preferred.
