Job Profile Summary
A career in our Personal Tax Consulting and Compliance practices, within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis and global tax solutions.
Our team helps individuals and families comply with Hong Kong, PRC and the US Federal and State tax filing rules. You’ll focus on tax policy changes related to tax returns, US and international tax reporting, tax payments and Internal Revenue Service communications with the tax authorities.
Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious finance and accounting professionals to join our growing tax practice. Helping high net with individuals, including income tax, residence and immigration planning; real property structuring; estate and gift tax; entity structuring; and executive compensation and financial consulting.
You will use your previous experience to support the Senior Managers and Partners in all areas of client service, and internal operations including; marketing, business development, and finance. This is a fast paced, dynamic area of the business, and you will have wide ranging responsibilities above and beyond the usual opportunities of your level.
Responsibilities
• Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Managers and above
• Be involved in the financial management of clients
• Be actively involved in business development activities to market the private brand both internally and externally; be involved in developing a playbook of services for HNWIs in Asia
• Contribute to the development of your own and the team’s technical acumen and EQ
• Network with your peers and stakeholders both in Hong Kong and China, and across Asia and global
• Assimilate to the culture of the region ensuring you are relevant as an advisor
Requirements:
• 0-2 years of experience, more junior candidates will be considered as Associate;
• Knowledge and/or a proven record of in dealing with: High net worth individuals, with extensive experience in the following areas: individual income tax planning, wealth transfer planning, international tax planning and tax return compliance.
• Understand and assess the tax impact of company business, operations and transactions in multiple jurisdictions through the life cycle of the business (start up, growth, expansion, exit);
• Understanding corporate tax including tax research, compliance and consulting within an international taxation environment;
• Individual tax planning for senior executive cross-border movement including foreign national and expatriate issues, leading multiple country tax analyses;
• Experience with research, writing and consulting on various international tax matters;
• A team player, can identify and address client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; and, managing engagements;
