Job Description

As a Senior Manager, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution for Insurance clients. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Collaborate with and build trust with teams and stakeholders to ensure everyone has a voice, inviting opinion from all.  
  • Manage and coach teams of junior professionals dynamically across various projects 
  • Take on initiatives and drive success on projects and client relationship with an entrepreneurial mindset.  
  • Establish the root causes of issues and tackle them, rather than just the symptoms, synthesize information and develop solid conclusions.   
  • Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant details. 
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs, and develop potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realises, they are required. 
  • Develop specialised expertise in one or more areas. 
  • Act as projects’ subject-matter experts to advise clients and stakeholders for their business area including but not limited to, finance operating models, peer practices and Insurance industry trends 
  • Navigate the complexities of global teams and engagements. 
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct. 
  • Actively contribute to building the talent pipeline; create a talent experience that attracts, develops and retains top talent and high performing teams 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or above with a minimum of 10 years' work experience, preferably at least 2 years in a business consulting firm taking a leading role in project delivery. 
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in at least one of the following disciplines:  
  • Capital management 
  • Customer and distribution 
  • Financial management and finance function improvement (operational accounting, insurance product accounting, statutory reporting, management accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting) 
  • IFRS conversion 
  • Operations and process improvement 
  • Shared services and outsourcing 
  • Solvency II 

Requirements (con't)

  • Knowledge in one or more of the followings would be an advantage 
  • Actuarial concepts and disciplines 
  • Accounting and financial management concepts and disciplines 
  • Digital finance solutions 
  • Demonstrated trusted advisor with in-depth understanding of the industry and market.  
  • Proven track record of being a key subject matter expert with the ability to develop thought leadership and deliver solutions for clients. 
  • Proven experience in delivering business transformation projects and programs. 
  • Ability to direct high-performing teams across the organization through strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. 
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin. 
  • Willingness to travel within region for projects.
